itch on tx? does this mean that this isnt working

by pjpie, Jun 15, 2008 05:58AM
I am on week 16 of peg-rib and the last week I have been getting increasingly itchy and my legs are killing me at night. i have tried Advil and even started taking some real pain killers but this all wakes me up at 4 am and now im wondering if the itching means my hcv is back up , I knew you could have itching with hcv but I never read anything about it in the tx lit. I also want to say , i had never posted before but just reading all you guys out there it the ONLY thing that makes this a little better. I dont know if I can keep this up and when I tell people this they say , your strong, and normaly I am , but I am not myself anymore and reading you guys help, I have learned more about my hep , tx and the nature of good people being here , thank you

The itching is a side effect of the Ribavirin. So it does not mean that your treatment is not working. I have not started tx yet, but I'm sure you will have many replies with tips how to cope with this. Use good moisturizers and keep yourself hydrated by drinking enough water.

All the best with tx.
