reports regarding thallium test

by seema1956, Jun 16, 2008 02:41AM
3 months ago i suffered  pain in my right arm. and i was admitted to ICU and got engiography done. but the main artery was not clear in the cd. so they suggested me a thallium test. And they told me that the a reversible ischemia has been found involving about 39% of the myocardium in the LAD territory.
and functional information showed multi gated SPECT images shows normal wall motion with good systolic thickening
in the entire LV myocardium.the resting LV systolic function is good.  Kindly let me know what does this mean.

the reports showed that their is no damaged to the heart and the efficiency is abt 77% and lipid profile was done which showed all normal results.
kindly please help as i am unable understand the report

the images showed
Defect    1      2   3   4    5    total
Stress Defect (% of total myocardium or coronary territory )
Total :   39% 0% 0% 0% 0% 39%
LAD  :   54% 0% 0% 0% 0% 54%
LCX  :   20%  0% 0% 0% 0% 20%
RCA :     3% 0% 0% 0% 0% 3%

Reversibility (% of the total def or def in coronary territory):
Total:  62%  0% 0% 0% 0% 62%
LAD :  68%  0% 0% 0% 0% 68%
LCX :  33%  0% 0% 0% 0% 33%
RCA:  33%  0% 0% 0% 0% 33%

there are 233 pixels blacked out (39%) of 601 total pixels

stress total severity score =1017
rest total severity score =371
reversibility total severity score =226

impression
shows scan evidence of haemodynamically significant reversible ischemia seen in the apex, apicoanterior and apicolateral segments of the LV myocardium .
good resting LV systolic function as estimated by quantitative gated spect.

Can u please correlate this report in a simple language and explain how much blockage do i have ?
thankyou \

hi, i would ask ryan, user name RCA7591. he is going to medical school and helps alot of people on this site. i wish i could give you some answers but i know very little about this report. they did let you come home after the test did,nt they? that usually means, from what i know, that you were not having a heart attack . can you call your dr. and have him or her explain your test in detail? take care and let us know. remar
