It's late, so forgive me for not writing out an in-depth response.
The only way to know what this is, is to see a doctor, unfortunately. I wish I could put your mind at ease and tell you what it is and isn't, but this simply isn't possible.

There are TONS of treatment options available for HPV, and you can learn about many of them in depth with a simple google search (but be careful, there's a lot of false info about HPV out there) or through a credible website (see my journal for links). Warts recur in about 20 or so percent of people, but eventually all HPV infections resolve themselves. After you haven't had warts for 3-6 months (6 months to be safe), you can assume you are no longer contagious. There is a lot of good information about HPV transmission in the expert forums too, and it is very direct, I'd take a thorough look.
In the meanwhile though, I wouldn't worry until you've seen a doctor.
