You should go to see your doctor as things like that shouldnt be left untreated just in case it is something serious as your fertility could be effected. Dont be embarrassed your doctor would have seen many women that have gone in for the same reason so just go and get yourself sorted out as the longer you leave it the worse it may become.

The ex and I are in a "BREAK" right now.. he swears he didnt cheat but WHY didn't it show up on any other paps.. See with my experience.. It felt like I was having to pee all the time.. burning around the pee hole etc.. The dr had concluded a really bad yeast and a UTI or BV or Trichomonasis...I found out during my pregnancy I had chlamydia but being stupid he didn't get checked.. We figured it was okay but no.. I almost lost my son to it.. I had bleeding etc...Go figure lovely trip.. Anyways I had a pap test march 28th 2008 and mid-end may had this whole itchy burning peeing etc sensation down there and thats when I went for another pap.. and 2 months later I have 2 stds.. the ex didnt get tested after taking the meds when I was pregnant so I could deal with possibly one STD...Then now this second.. We have seen a second dr and she said it CAN be caught on toilet surfaces.. He btw tested negative for BOTH STD's so now it looks HORRIBLE on my part.. and I didn't do anything...I have never been unfaithful...EVER to anyone.. anyways..

EEL81 as much as you might not believe it i would go get checked because you simply never know and IF it was something other than a UTI or yeast infection or BV it could cause serious long term effects.. Good luck:)

chlamydia can show no symptoms and lie dormant for up to 10 years.

I have only ever had sex with one person (my ex boyfriend and babys father) however, when we broke up we continued seeing each other and he kindly forgot to mention he was also sleepin with other skanks. Needless to say he got a rash and we both had to go to the GUM clinic for tests. Turns out he got lucky and only caught thrush from her but in the 3 years we had been together i had NEVER had any problems until then.

It was super embarrassing having to go for tests but i dont regret it one bit. Having STDs and not knowing it can lead to health problems and infertiltiy if lleft untreated.

As the others have said, it may just be a simple UTI or thrush infection (ive had thrush 3 more times since falling pregnant) but you shouldnt be worried about having it checked out, trust me, these docs have seen it all!!! :)

i am not really understanding this i hope it is a uti. like nikkottc said. but with hte other comments on trich, or whatever its called, does that mean my husband could have slept with some other woman, we ahve been together for 8 years married for 3, i understand that doesnt make a difference, but is this what you mean. i hope this is not hte case, could it be anything else. it does just feel like pee, like i can't hold on. this is the area. that is the concern. so it could just be a uti i so hope so.

eel81, toward the front like around the opening where you pee? It could be that you are getting the start of a UTI if that is the case. There is a product called AZO urinary tract test strips that are over the counter, if you have a UTI then use Uristat also OTC, that may help. :) Once it's cleared up green light for sex and baths :) I just got over a bad yeast infection (everything seems to be worse when you are preggo) and DH had to wait ten days before we could have sex. The leaking part also lends to the UTI theory. It is possible that the infection is weakening the muscles that help you hold the urine in until time to go. Does that seem to be the issue or is it actually extra cervical discharge? Try those two tests the yeast infection test and the UTI test, I think you can get them both for about 15$ at walgreens.

CYW, I had this happen with my DD's father. I was actually pregnant with her. Went to doc for what I thought was a UTI and it ended up being trich. I was so scared cause I was in my first trimester and the infection was bad enough that they had to give me the meds to clear it up (not safe in first trimester for baby). By the way, women get the short end of the stick in this instance too. Men don't usually show signs of trich whereas women do. Most men can carry it and not even know it. But it is highly contagious and only takes once to transmit. DD was born with no problems thank God, but he got kicked to curb fast.

You shouldn't be embarrassed at all!! That is what they are there for. Im a M.A and I see pts all the time that are embarrassed, there is no need to be. The Dr.'s have seen it all and thats why they are there to help you. You'd rather be safe than sorry, right? Just go get checked out!!! best of Luck to you!!

I would just go to the doctor. Unless you think it may just be a yeast infection, then you can buy something OTC. Don't be embarrassed to go to a dr!. It's better to get  things taken care of! You need to know what's going on w/ your body!   =)

Good luck!

I would DEFINATELY talk to a dr...I JUST went through something similar.. It was unbearably itchy down there and I thought yeast infection.. I took monistat and it didn't work it was as itchy the next day then it was the previous day and it was starting to hurt because of the rubbing/trying not to itch but it's driving me insane. I had some discharge so I figured possibly BV...I go to the dr's and she runs a pap test on me.. After being with my baby's father for almost 2 years I find out I have trichomonasis and chlamydia.. LOVELY huh? So no matter what you might think.. get tested because you NEVER truly know!!!

i should mention that the itchiness is actually towards the front of it. and that is where the leaking feels like it coming from. i am too embarrased to go to the doc, i don't know how i would bring it up.
and yes nikko ttc  i have got the no sex part down, my problem is that i don't want to miss out on it and i havent told my husband what is going on. my anniversary is tomorrow night, and i want to be over this hopefully by then.

Sounds like a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis. Have you tried some monistat? Did that help at all. If not then it is probably bacterial vaginosis. You should see your doctor and have them do a culture to be sure. It is really easy to cure, I am allergic to most of the creams so they give me diflucan. One pill and it clears up in 5-7 days. During this time, no baths only showers, and no sex although sounds like you have that part of the routine down already. I think they just came out with a test that you get in the drug store that will test for a yeast infection. You might try that if you don't want to go to the doc. But if it comes out negative you'll have to see the doc to take care of the problem anyway. For the itching try some vagisil. It is gentle and works wonders.
