trigeminal neuropathy

by Jogo222, Jun 17, 2008 03:32PM
I am a 32 year old woman. In June 2007 I had a back molar extracted. In August 2007, I developed pain in my mouth that was diagnosed as Trigeminal Neuropathy. I have been on Gabapentin for about a year now. The pain is manageable with the meds, but I am very worried about being on it for so long. I have been seeing a doctor, but I don't feel like he is ever straight with me.

Will someone please just tell me - what is the likelihood of this ever going away? Do I need to accept that this is going to be a lifelong problem?  I would like to have children someday, and I am very worried about the effects of the meds on my ability to have kids.

Thanks so much for your help!
