there is a bunch of quackery on the internet. stick with valtrex. it is the only thing proven to improve it (other than similar drugs like acyclovir)

I think the Valtrex should help the sore heal faster and the cream will relieve your symptoms in the meantime. Don't think there is much else you can do..
