How to diagnose chronic diarrhea?

My Ragdoll cat was bred about 4-5 weeks ago in a rural location. Shortly after returning home she developed diarrhea which seems to cycle--will improve for a few days then worsen for a couple of days. She has been treated with Albon and Panacur with no success, only the seeming improvement and then worsening as before. Yesterday, after the vet finally decided from examination that she was not pregnant, he prescribed Flagyl and Prednisone. Unfortunately, today she has even less control, leaving tiny messes throughout the house. One odd development today is that the feces has absolutely no odor. She is getting only Purina Kitten Chow and water. No tests have been run. She has lost about .3 lbs. and was only 6 lbs. to start with. Any suggestions?? Thanks, Sheila

Did you get a health report on the cat she had "contact" with? It sounds like she picked something up. Considering this was sexual contact, there's A LOT of possibilities. I'd start by calling the owner of the male and re checking when it last had a full work up. After all, this can be anything from a viral infection to parasitical.
