Your TSH is a little too high because your thyroid hormones are low. Sounds like you were taken off the Eltroxin a little too soon.
What is viral thyroiditis? Never heard of that one.
Either your thyroid will catch up naturally, or it may be impaired now. I would insist on another test or two in a month or so and if your TSH is not down around 1.0 or 2.0, don't let the doctor brush it off as normal and all is well.
If your TSH hovers around 4.0 for months you will end up with a lot of symptoms and complaints while your doctor tells you everything is fine.

I actually thought my TSH was normal because the reference range I have is 0.459-4.68, but it's very good to know that Clinical Endocrinologists have a lower standard.
Guess I will just wait it out for a couple of months, recheck and hope it goes back to normal without any damage. If you have any other suggestions please share. Thanks for all your help everyone!
Thanks!
