Found gas in the hip joint, don't understand?

by NTEXAS, Jun 17, 2008 08:36PM
I have been suffering from severe groin pain for at least three months. I have a history of Grave's and have recently gained alot of weight. So i had a CT scan, and the Dr. said I had gas in my hip joint and in the lower back area. So my question is why is there gas there? I know when you move your joints the fluid turns to gas. So what can be done? They are telling me to get shots in my hip. I don't understand, how is a shot going to get rid of the gas? Thanks!

That does sound painful.  My quick search of the net did not reveal much.  I often find I wish I had asked a question or two after I leave the doctor's office or after we hang up on the phone.  I think I would call the doctor and ask those questions.  Also, if you do not know what kind of shots they want to give you, I would get that information as well.  Let us know what you find out.
