Weight n Tiredness

by chatty530, Jun 18, 2008 11:50AM
Accordingly to my Doctor my level is now normal.

Does anyone still have spouts of being tired at times and gaining weight still?

How do I get this weight off? Would love to be a hundred pounds lighter.

My husband and I been walking about 2.5 miles a day for 4 days a week. There are times, I am just exhausted focusing on putting one foot in front of the other. This does not happen every day.

To: anyone
I have the worst case of GRAVES THYROID EYE DISEASE my neurologist has seen for over 40 years. This started in Dec 2006 when they thought it may be Myasthenia Gravis. I have had radioactive iodine which made my eyes worse than ever. I had and emergency bilateral orbital decompression up through my nose as I was about to go blind, they cut away some of my jaw bone and eye sockets to make more room for my huge bulging eyes, this didn't work and two weeks later I had to have another emergency bilateral orbital decompression through my eyebrows this time to cut away more of the jaw bone and eye sockets. They are still trying to get off the large doses of steroids I am on as they are causing problems with my bones etc. I am on another immunosuppresant Azathioprine which is causing problems with my blood just now. I must stay out of the sun whilst on this one. I have now had a course of 12 treatments of radiotherapy whioch was awful and I await to see if this has helped reduce the swelling behind my eyes. I still await squint surger to align my eyes up again and then eyelid surgery. My thyroid levels are not bad at the moment but the Graves Disease just makes me feel ill with all its various symptoms. I ma partially blind at the moment with the Hishimotos Graves Eye Disease. The many doctors , consultants, specialist etc I have seen are not too sure what to do about my various problems as they haven't seen anyone with all of my symptoms all at one time. I have now lost my job through this and cannot go out unless accompanied by someone. I have gained masses of weight due to the medication, I have the moon face due to the steroids and just feel like my life has been taken away from me the last 18 months. Is there anyone out there with the same problems as me. Oh and just to top the thyroid problems, the graves thyyroid eye disease etc I am now going throught the menopause. Isn't life just great.
