trichloracetic acid treatment of genital warts

by eddguy, Jun 18, 2008 04:00PM
I went to get tested for all std's the other day... specifically hpv. The doc was not sure if the bumps i had around the head of my penis were in fact genital warts or normal papules since they were not all the way around the head. i was treated with trichloroacetic acid just in case. I was also treated at the tip of my penis around the urethral opening. the treatment around the head is doing fine and is in fact still white and starting to turn gray and is drying out. the treatment at the tip never really turned that white but is in fact a bit red and dry as well. i was wondering if anyone who has had this treatment can tell me if the treatment near the tip is fact normal or tell me the experiences they have had with their treatment and the different stages that they went through.

I would get a second opinion. A Dr. can put acetic acid on them and if you have visable warts, they will whiten and become more noticable.
From what you described, it does sound like it is Hirsuties papillaris genitalis or more common called pearly penile papules.
