Possible lymphoma

by kittykat70, Jun 18, 2008 04:56PM
I have not been diagnosed with cancer or lymphona at this point, although I am undergoing early stage tests for a lump in my neck and other symptoms such as all my lymphnodes in my neck swollen, one large lump from the side of my neck around to the back of my neck about 1.5 inch wide, night sweats, muscle aches and pains, tingling in hands, sleepyness, general unwell feeling and more resetly crying and loss of appetite. This has gone on for 11 weeks now and my dr has done loads of blood tests. The first set showed abnomalities in my ammunie system and an underactive thyriod. I thought a thyroid would explain my symptoms but now my thyriod level is within normal range. I have had a chest xray and more blood tests, xry was clear but tests show low calcium levels. The Dr is not saying much about what they think but I have been refered to haemotology for an appointment on tuesday.

My main concern is the waiting to find out what is wrong. What will the next steps be, will they do a biopsy very quickly or what for more blood tests to come back.  Just to have an idea of what to expect on tuesday would be good.  I have been told to take uine sample and I will have more blood tests done.

Any advice would be greatly recieved. It is easier to deal with something when I know what to expect. I am really struggling with the not knowing what is happening to me at the moment.

Thankyou for reading.

If your biopsy is negative, then your physican should consider CFS/ME or lyme disease.

Well appointment happened.  I wont say went well because I am a bit unsure about that.  I have had more blood tests done and have to go back on 5th August to see if the lumps have changed at all and the blood results.  The consultant said he didnt think it was anything to be concerned about but Lymphoma can only be detected through a biopsy which he does not want to do just yet that is why I have to go back in August.

I will feel better one way or another when I know what it is.  Very annoying.

Thanks
Kat
