lamictal + birth control

by kay221, Jun 18, 2008 10:45PM
in march 08 i found out that i have juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. i'm taking lamictal and increased my dose about a month ago to 150 mg in the am and pm. everything was going well. my primary doctor was on medical leave and i needed a refill for my birth control so i had to wait for a referral. i wasnt able to take the birth control at my usual time but my period still went as usual. now that ive started taking the birth control i havent been able to sleep and have been wide awake in the middle of the night. ive also wanted to have sex more often. the symptoms have lasted longer that i though they would. i know that the mixtures of the birth control and the lamictal can have an affect on eachother but i havent increase or decreased either of the doses so i assumed that everything would work as usual. the birth control that im taking is tri sprintec ( it goes by another name but i cant think of it right now) Any ideas?
