Best way to treat it and am I still contagious?

by LadySelena, Jun 18, 2008 11:29PM
Hello,

I've recently acquired the flu but it has been almost a week and my fever is gone along with many of the symptoms. I have passed the flu over to my boyfriend by accident and want to know whats the fastest way to recover and best remedies for the sore throat from the flu. (He dislikes honey and tea..the remedy i used for myself when my throat bothered me). Also, I would like to know if I'm still contagious after my fever and most of my symptoms are still gone because I would really hate it if people at the office caught it.

thank you

You probably aren't contagious anymore since you're body has fought most of it off. However, if you still have a cough, be careful to not spread germs just in case. Cherry cough drops for a sore throat work best for people who dislike honey and tea. Decaffeinated coffee might also be warm and soothing. If he doesn't have a runny nose or any phlegm in his throat then warm milk might also help.

I also think the best way to overcome the flu is to not lay in bed all day, but just to take it easy to continue doing important daily tasks when necessary. I think people feel more sick when they sulk in their pajamas in bed all day. Have him get out and get some fresh air and warm sunshine.
