persistent dizziness

by fellow, Jun 19, 2008 09:31AM
i have been suffering from constant dizziness for almost 2months now with mild chest pain.  all tests to investigate the condition i.e. Blood (for anaemia, Thyriod function, mineral components), MRI, ECG, Echo have all come back ok.  However, the dizziness has remained constant all the time with some good days 4-5 and then some bad days 2-3.  generally i feel unsteady on my feet and my brain feels like its filled with cotton wool and thinking is like i am trying to think through a fog.  i have been to see an ENT specialist and we are going through Epleys monouever.  i am also going through some physio to try to adjust for my positionong balance.

my question is, any idea as to what the problem can be?

I went to the doctor in january for dizziness and blackouts.  I was diagnosed with Chiari malformation.  That would be diagnosed with a MRI although all neuros are not aware of the condition so sometimes it goes undiagnosed.  There is nothing that they have been able to do for me to help with the vertigo although I am going to have an operation to make my skull bigger at the end of the summer that is suppose to help.  I wish you the best of luck!!
