This patient support community is for discussions relating to lupus.
I have rheumatoid arthritis symptoms associated with discoid lupus, fatigue (REAL Fatigue ~ like Gumby after 90 seconds in the microwave Fatigue), depression (which is associated with lupus also.... or probably with many other medical diagnosis), anxiety may also be a symptom of just a bunch of things going on medically ~ heck, anyone would have anxiety dealing with all of this at once!!! I saw the epiditimitis on your other post also ~ but no mention of a medical appointment! Have you found a doctor? The epiditimitis and prostate, swelling in the extremities, and perhaps the headaches too, may be relieved somewhat with an anti-inflammant (which I only use for initial relief ~ usually with ibuprofen, if I use it for headaches, I get rebound headaches; dr says they 'bounce back' because the anti-inflammant properties in the ibuprofen wear off and the headache comes back, so it's like a yo-yo ~ BUT you may get some initial relief with your aches and pains!!) My ex-husband treated his epiditimitis with ice packs; uncomfortable I know... but the ice, even on the wrist, knee, or back of the neck (for headaches) brings more blood to the direct area where the ice is, thereby bringing more oxygenated cells and promoting healing.
What does the rash on your face and nose look like? I have discoid lupus. Tho I've not seen this very often, lupus is often first recognized by a 'mask like' rash on the face with redness going down the neck also.
Have you served in the Military, or been overseas in the past few years?
I had a rare disease in 1997 that first surfaced with the lymph nodes being enlarged, and not responding to antibiotics. I had night sweats and severe fatigue for a couple of years; a very difficult time for me ~ so my heart goes out to you! It does sound like you may want to avoid sugars or simple carbohydrates; at least if you have them, try to always eat foods high in protein at the same time so your blood sugar levels aren't all over the board, up and down. Keep coming back here and asking questions! There's lots of good support here, and A Lot of People who know more than I do! Peace & Respect ~ Woshi
i stopped sugar, only water lots of it or i dehydrate doing nothing, and foods easy to digest.i have some other symtoms also,it seemes i get more every month like vison memory problems.i did have lupus test and they said it was negative but didn't say what was or what they tested.and now are going to send me to a specialist but i lost my insurance.i still feel i have lupus,or something very close.some people said i have cfids.thanks
i haven't got to a rheum. because of waiting list and now and not sure when i can now because of insurance,is a visit expensive?also would the nerves and stool changes have anything to do with the other symptoms?and when i did the lupus test i didn't have any protein blood cells exc that day that i had been having.
i also got a steroid shot which seemed to make me feel a little better,it helped my vison and arthitis, but mainly helped the fatigue.thanks
could this be part of my problem?
