Symptoms of Cross Contamination

by 5thave, Jun 19, 2008 05:05PM
Oh I also forgot to ask what will happen if contaminated. Are the symptoms the same or are they less intense? How do you all feel if you are contaminated, what happens? Thanks

I can only speak for me. If I eat cross contaminated food it affects me by making my brain feel in a total fog. It also weakens my immune system and if exposed too much, I get a low grade fever. I am gluten sensitive, not Celiac. Celiac reactions can be much more severe, including nausea, cramping, diarrhea, mouth sores etc..

Thanks, that is what I was wondering. Yesterday I was feeling great and then i had some soy nuts, a good size handful, which should have been fine but it did say they were processed in a facility also processing wheat. After awhile I didn't get the usual stomach pain, my brain got foggy, slighty diarrhea, I got nausea, and my muscles ached. I was wondering if that had to be from eating the soy nuts? This is a bizarre disease and very frustrating. I just want to feel better for a week straight. I have usually only a few good hours and then bamm something bothers me and I hate being a whiner. It sure sounds like you are Celiac, how do you know you aren't?

I know exactly how you feel...I would certainly love just having a whole week without complaining to my husband that I don't feel good.  my issue is eating something and the weakness of the muscles and just an overall feeling of unwell also when you say brain fog exactly how you feel.  I get the near syncope and now vertigo but always the weak muscle and instant diarrhea if something upsets my stomach.

I really would like to know the different symptoms that people get because my docs can't understand the near syncope with the eating of foods.
