Is my girlfriend using Heroin?

by enfantterrible, Jun 19, 2008 05:54PM
I've noticed many different symptoms that lead me to believe she is, but when I confronted her about it, she denied it and said her symptoms were a result of a stomach ulcer. I have a hard time believing this. She knows that I lost a girlfriend when I was younger to Heroin and that if she was using, there is no way I could be in a relationship with her, even if she did clean up.

I compiled a list of symptoms I have gathered off the internet that I felt applied to her current situation.

Vomiting
Constipation
Craving of sugar
Craving of nicotine
loss of appetite
panic
insomnia
Acne
Dark circles under eyes
Cramps in  back muscles
Stops showering very often
Nightmares
May interrupt his or her meal and go to the bathroom to vomit
The addict's sleep pattern becomes owlish
Secretive
Close friends are Heroin addicts
Constant need to visit the bathroom
Nodding-out (with increased activity level before)
Track marks on arms (claims these are from a botched attempt to draw blood at the doctor)
runny nose
Itching and scratching
Weight loss
Droopy appearance, as if extremities are "heavy"
Alternately wakeful and drowsy
Disorientation, poor mental functioning
Missing cash/valuables, stealing/borrowing money
Change in performance, academic or otherwise
Change in friends
Withdrawal from usual friends, activities, or interests
Difficulty in maintaining employment

I suppose my struggle is the fact that I do really love her and want to be positive that she is using...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your lady has the symptoms you list, it would be hard to not think she is using.....good luck with this and with her - she can quit, but you cant quit for her

If you think she is, she is. No one knows her like you. BTW...I am all too familiar with the stomach ulcer excuse, as well as many others. Take care of you.

To: is my girl using H
YES.
SHE IS USING HEROIN OR OXYCONTIN.

by Barbie121386, Jun 19, 2008 07:51PM
My boyfriend is an ex heroin addict.  but now uses oxycontin only.
and you described him perfectly.

my advice to you is.

buy a drug test from walgreens.
tell her you want her to take the test in front of you.
(it would involve her urinating in front of you)

if she refuses and gives excuses.. then she is a liar...
and if she tries to turn it around on you... for example: blaming you for not trusting her, and refusing to take the test because you should trust her... then you know she is using heroin.

it soudns to me she is.  have a serious talk with her, and tell her you wont be mad if she admits to it.

also.  you need to be careful.  heroin addicts, especially the ones that SHOOT UP are not very clean.  women will usually prostitute themselves for money... and they often use dirty needles that they share with other friends/addicts...

BE CAREFUL AND FIND OUT NOW IF SHE IS USING THAT ****!!!!

Not all Heroin addicts prostitute themselves but I do agree Hep C is prevalent in the IV community's I have been married 27 years this July and my husband has never contracted it, It is passed by blood meaning dirty needle..

You just described yself to a tea when i was using sorry mate but your girlfriend needs help asap.

by scaredmom330, Jul 31, 2008 07:53AM
If your girlfriend is using, you can't make her stop, that will only make her want to use more. you can be supportive of her but she has to want to quit. you can do hard love or threats but until she is ready, she won't quit. sorry but went through this with my son. you need to realize you are a victim of her drug abuse. be strong, will pray for you and your girlfriend
