sharp pain in lower part of neck

occasionally i have been getting a sharp pain in my lower left hand side, just under my left ear. not overly painful, just a shooting pain. any suggestions

Hello Dear,
There Could be different causes for the headache like trigeminal neuralgia,tension headache,head injury,degenerative spine changes etc.You should consult a physician and find out the cause so that the treatment can be decided.For relieving pain you can take ibuprofen or some NSAID . Regular exercise  will help you cope with pain.
