For the 1st 5 weeks, it seemed impossible. He wouldn't sleep in his crib, wouldn't sleep on his back, we had trouble breastfeeding, I had to hold him ALL THE TIME and stayed up all night while he slept on me because if you set him down INSTANT SCREAMING......

3 months later, he sleeps thru the night 10:30pm-6am ( once in a while a 3:30am feeding), he sleeps on his back, naps in his crib and mommy is slightly more human.

I think I look like ****, I don't shower everyday, but the baby does. I thought at first I was going to lose it with all the fussing and sleep loss ect for the first 5 weeks, but just like everyone said, it did get better. Now if only I could get motivated to take care of myself. What's the point, I'm just gonna get peed on, sweaty, barfed on, scratched and sore all over. He is the sweetest little guy though!

Snadi,

My lil guy was great for the first 3 weeks then BAM!!!! he starting screaming , tooting.. spitting up and I kept taking him in to  the dr and saying something is worng with him.. he was fighting to eat froma bottle and breast! holy Cr** I thought I was gonna lose my mind..lol  He is now 12 weeks and the fussiness has gotten better.. I stopped all milk from my diet and that seemed to help alot! he still doesnt sleep well at night from 9-1 then up at 2, 4, 5 am so I am soooo tired! He still has his fussy moments like the past couple days .. we need aslo change bottles to the DR. BROWNS.. they work GREAT! not hardly any air goes in there belly...whew~!

I keep  telling myself it will get better... I know the lack of sleep is kicking my butt!
Oh yeah.. my lil guy is to be n tummy time ALL day for his head! and he hates is SCREAMS .. the whole time.. I just cant do more than 10 minutes, the crying kills me ! he cant be in swings, bouncy seats either! it stinks.. I do cheat on  the swing once in a while to get a break! I Too habe to hold him almost all the time, though I love him to peices, my arms get tired..lol

Good luck.. we are here in the same boat with you =) Take  care

Jacob is pretty good, but I don't think I set him down for the first 10wks.  I slept in the recliner with him laying ontop of me... I'm sure the pedi would say that isn't a good idea but it worked for us.  At 11wks he started sleeping through the night 8:30 to 6ish.. hang in there... she will settle down when she is ready..

Hello!

I don't have my new baby yet, but my now 4 year old was extremely fussy and gassy when we first brought him home.  He would draw his legs up and poot and scream, which made me think he wasn't tolerating my breast milk well. He would always do it about 30 minutes after feeding.  He also got spoiled very fast and didn't want to sleep on his back.  We spent the first three months with him in his car seat, and the car seat in the cradle! LOL!

I saw a lactation consultant about 3 days after we got him home and she couldn't figure out why he was fussing so much after eating, so we tried switching to formula.  Still no change.  I was desperate for rest, and desperate for the baby to be happier, so we tried Soy forumula thinking he might be lactose intolerant and voila!  He was a changed baby!  He started sleeping longer periods of time, hardly ever screamed and cried, and was a very, very happy baby!

Chancellor acts like he doesnt like the dark...He'll play all day and nap in between play dates with my older kids.  As soon as the sun goes down he wont even lay in a dark room.  If I'm not breathing on him he'll fuss until he finds his way into my bed.  He better realize who's running this popsicle stand! LOL

My little girl turned 3 weeks yesterday. Up until yesterday, she's been great. Happy awake time during the day with one good 2-3 hour nap mid day and eating every 2 hours. Then sleeping 4-5 hours at a time at night.

Yesterday she was fussy all day and all night long and would only take little half hour naps. She didn't go to sleep until 3:30 am this morning. I have no idea how she managed to stay away practically all day and all night. This morning she is fussy again. I am so caught off guard by this sudden change.

Any ideas, insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
