are these MS plaques?

by dbenson, Jun 21, 2008 12:02PM
Hi there.  I was diagnosed with optic neuritis approximately two and half months ago.  I was pretty much immediately scheduled for an MRI but I just finally had the MRI done a few days ago.  Now I am just waiting for the neuro-opthmalogmist to review the MRI results.  I was able to purchase the images and have been cross-referencing with many other images of MS plaques found in various publications.  I suspect the small bright images seen in the following attached images are MS plaques/lesions.  I know they may not be either as other conditions may cause this and I will ultimately wait for the full diagnosis/review from the specialist but does anyone else out there have an opinion?  Quick med history: 36 year old male, unsure if any previous attacks before optic neuritis but approximately two years ago my left thigh went 'numb' for approximately a month; fairly reasonably healthy other than that.  Anyway, I'm just looking for other peoples thoughts on these images (see further replies/msg's for more images); not looking for the 'diagnosis'.  Thanks.
