Track Marks

My son had a problem with heroin use a few years ago. He has beaten it and in fact has graduated from college with a Mechanical Engineering degree. There remain, however, circular discoloration marks about 1 cm in diameter on the inside of his elbows. He is embarassed by them and is worried others will notice them for what they are and then discriminate against him. Is there anyway these can be removed or even masked? We have tried Preparation H and have just started to apply Meladerm for hyperpigmentation. We would be willing to pay for laser surgery.... whatever it takes.

It's possible that skin lightening creams will help, though it's not likely.  I suggest consulting a skin doctor, who may judge them worth a try.  Laser treatment may be a good option, and given their small size would not be very costly.  Either way, treating them is worth looking into.

Best.
