bilateral leg numbness / throbbing/tigling after head trauma

Five days after I had a serious fall resulting in a contusion on the back of my head, I began noticing bilateral leg pain, throbbing, stiffness and tingling, and has now spread to my sacrum. The trauma was that I fell backward with force onto a concrete floor, breaking the fall with the back of my head. I immediately felt total numbness, followed by tingling all over my body. I went to the emergency room, received a CT scan, the results of which concluded some disc degeneration at C5-C6, and my diagnosis was simply a cervical strain. I felt all of my pain and throbbing in the form of extreme headaches, but experienced no back or neck pain. Now that my headaches have mostly subsided, I am feeling increased pain and tingling in my sacrum and legs. Please advise.

Your symptoms like tingling and weakness indicate nerve compression. I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with a neurologist as soon as possible. A CT scan of the entire back will help to identify the exact point of nerve compression. Meanwhile also get a blood sugar test done to rule out diabetes. A B complex vitamin supplement may also help.
