Buying a Car seat and stroller

by feather2e, Jun 22, 2008 07:12AM
I am starting to look at some things I will need. Does anyone have any recommendations for carseats and strollers that either they have used or someone has recommended for them?. I am hesitant to go all out on a stroller for a newborn as we are having winter babies and are probably not going to be using them much till they are 6 months, in which they would need a different more manageable stroller like the maclaren XT.

not sure i can be much help - I am just using the Graco stroller I used with my son. Maybe some of the other moms can shed some advice on brands/types

I've always had the bigger Graco strollers because I love to go to the mall in the winter with the baby and they are so convienent for that.  I love the ones that have the matching pop in, pop out, baby seats.  Just my opinion.

Thank you for the info. I have decided on my car seat and stroller. I am getting the Graco metrolite stroller and carseat in sterling. The weight of the stroller is just 17lb so it will be easier for me to handle and I like the pattern.I am also purchasing the stoller frame for going to the mall.

I think the metrolite is a great stroller.  I had it picked out but my DP really wanted the big daddy Graco stroller (I forget what its called) (hint:he's not the one who's going to have to put it in and out of the van at the mall).  If I was getting the metrolite and the carseat I probably wouldn't get an extra stroller frame.  That metorlite frame is pretty durable.  Because he wants the bigger stroller I'm getting the extra frame by itself to put in the other car and for when I'm making quick trips.
