HPV transmission

by Whit5578, Jun 23, 2008 11:19PM
I have recently been diagnosed with high rish HPV and I had a colposcopy done which came back normal. I have a healthy immune system so my doctor believes that I will just fight off the virus. In the mean time, I am in a relationship and my partner and I both are concerned about having sex. My partner and I had sex for about two months, mostly without condoms, before I learned that I had the virus. I understand that it is very likely that he could have already gotten it from a previous partner, that I could have already given it to him in those two months, or that he could have even be the one that gave it to me. However, we both are unsure if he has it and want to be careful in order to prevent transmission. If we had sex with a condom, how much does that protect against transmission? What about oral sex?...can it be spread that way?

He undoubtedly has the virus and there is nothing u can do about it now condoms will be ineffective...if u both remain monogomous with each other he cannot give u a low risk strain and likewise for u.ppl cannot get genital hpv in their mouths by oral sex....the stats on this are very low to nil.
