Doctor please read, any thoughts on my tumor?

by Rob2008, Jun 24, 2008 06:29AM
Hi doctor, if you answered my prev. post please skip this one.    I hope you can take a moment to reply.
I'm a 30 yr old male with these symptoms... Starting 5 years ago, a mild continuous headache which did not interfere much with my life, but 3 years ago it all became much worse, to the point I am now disabled from work from having a non stop headache.   The symptom is a dull pressure deep within my head and behind my forehead and the bridge of my nose, and my forehead feels very stiff (to raise the eyebrows).     It will never go away, it's a 24/7 symptom and is resistant to even the most potent drugs. It's not so much pain as it is a continuous, agonizing pressure.

Increasingly, I have been experiencing more symptoms to where I feel like I may faint from all the pressure in my head. Chronically, I feel the very distinct phenomenon of moderate to severe derealization syndrome (feels exactly like I am breathing medium levels of dental gas, nitrous oxide),  with brief periods of intense derealization, confusion,  to the point of causing extreme anxiety and voices of people will become garbled and unintelligible,  but again these severe episodes are over after 15 seconds.  Speaking of the nitrous oxide, I recently had a cavity filled and immediately blacked out when the dentist administered the gas.

My clinic exam and eye exam are very normal, and in my MRI there is only the lesion here which is 3.5 x 2.4 centimeters.  3 years ago I had an EEG with vague mention of Delta wave slowing, but I was told it was normal.

I am wondering if you can please tell me your opinion about whether my symptoms of  chronic derealization,  brief periods of confusion (seizures?),   and indeed the constant headache are  consistant with a tumor of this size in this region?
Since I gather you are uncomfortable speaking specifically about my case, can you tell me in a general sense, what the symptoms of a tumor here would be as far as actual mental function would be?  Would it cause derealization,  or is this likely just a purely psychological result of living with this?

Here are some good MRI images to go by, please look:
