This patient support community is for discussions relating to ovarian cysts.
Things to ask: What type of surgery will this require? How long of a hospital stay if any at all? Do I need a CA125? With this type of cyst, what kind of outcome can I expect? Those are just a few that I can think of. Please let me know what you find out tomorrow.
Hugs,
Kasie
i went to the rqadiologist and got a copy of my u/s and ct scan cd to bring to the second gyno tomorrrow ... see i actually live 2.5 hr drive from the doc in Charleston so i am probably gonna have this guy here stay on standby and continue to offer advice (i know more money than sense) ... lol i wish i had more money anyway hehe
fyi ... i feel better mentally its the physical part thats gettin me down
u are wonderful thanx for taking time for me
ty for all ur prayers and wonderful and timely advice
the gyn i saw today will take my case and follow it ... he spent two hours talking to me !
he came in and we talked then he said that if i dont mind if he sees other patients i can wait and keep talking to him
WOW ... i asked him everything ... i wish i found him first
he even gave me a support group magazine
basically i have 2 large adenomas that between the two of them they are about the size of a four month pregnancy ... gee no wonder i was so miserable ... he suggested i will probably get a laporotomy because of the size ... adenomas may or may not be cancerous and these are not giving clear signs of one way or the other ... he also drew a second CA-125 and said if its like 40 or below not to sweat it at all (he will call me friday with those results) ... he suggests based on what he saw that i get a BSO at the minimum and the gyn onc will test it during the laporotomy and decide if (i hope not) i need any further treatment ... told me my lungs had no lesions and my breasts were clear
then he spent time talking about BRCA 1 & 2 testing for me first and then bringing my girls in if the results are positive and outline what kind of tests they would need or not need depending on the results
when i left he gave me a prescription for percocet (sp) and my gyn onc consult is either wednesday or thursday next week ... my family and i are going to the mountains for the weekend until my appointment (we had this vacation scheduled since January)
w0w w0w w0w i wish everybody's gyno was like that ... i hope yours is ... the pain pills actually help but i sure am sleepy ... i so wish i could come over and watch ur kids for you while u try ur pain pills i am lucky that my kids are older ... i kid you not ... after the pill kicked in i could stand one one foot and even dance dont get me wrong there is still some hurt and the bloating is tremendous ... but no where near how i felt yesterday
i am glad i found you or i would not be anywhere near the level of peace i feel right now
i came home from the dr and told my daughter i felt like i get to see dr.House LOL
i am going to type in some of the articles i found in the doctors office onto the website it had sooo much information
