Sometimes the baby doesn't drop until active labor.  I wouldn't worry about that.  You can be dilated at 3 cm for awhile or you could dilate fast.  It's all a guessing game and a wait game at this point.  It sounds like things are moving along so I would take some nice, long walks to get things progressing.  It should happen any day now.  Good luck.

It is 100% normal to be dialated to 3cm, they say once you hit 4 cm you are considered in active labor aslong as your having contractions with it. Baby can stay at a high station even during active labor and pushing helps bring them down.

One thing that helped me bring my son down into the birth canal was squats, but if your going to attempt it make sure you hold on to DH or something very sturdy, gravity always made me fall during squats lol.

Just spread your legs and put your heels together and do squats, but like I said make sure to be holding onto something very sturdy, I dont reccomend a chair with wheels either lmao.

I dont think you have far to go, maybe the next few days or even this weekend sometime. I wish you the best of luck with you baby and hope you get to hold him/her soon.

thank you ladies yeah i'm going to start walking more and i'm going to do those squats, I'm just so much more nervous with this labor than i was with my daughter she was so easy and simple i was in labor for only 4 hours at the hospital and it just happend so fast but i hear so many storys about how much harder it is to have a boy do you ladies agree? But i cant wait to meet my little man

I think it is just because every pregnancy and labor experience is different.  I don't think it has much to do with the sex of the baby.  My son was a week past the due date and refused to come out.  I was barely induced and dilated at turbo speed.  Only in labor for 7 hours but since he was high like your little man, it took me 2 hours to push his big self out.  But overall, my labor was pretty good.

No, I had a great labor with my son. 7hr. & only 18mins pushing.

yeah that's what i keep telling my self to that it's going to be fine but i come from a very traditional mexican family and my tia's and in laws and stuff are like poor thing your having a boy its so much harder and blah blah blah i'm like ok i don't need that i'm already freaking out lol ... but i will keep you guys posted hopefully he comes soon did you take any medications with your son

I honestly don't think the sex of the baby causes issues or prolonged labor. I have 1 girl and 2 boys and 24weeks pregnant with my 3rd boy.

My daughter I was in labor for with 3 days, mainly because she was preterm and they were trying to prolong the time I carried her. My second son who was 9pounds 12 ounces only took a few hours. I went into labor at about noon and had him around 4pm. My second son however was quick, I went from 2cm to 7cm in less than an hour, and was only 3 pushes and he was out, well his head anyways, he did have a shoulder dystocia.

They say the more babies you have the faster they come, which in my opinion is so true. With this being my 4th child, my doc handed my hubby an umbilical cord clamp, bulb serenge, and surgical scissors and told him that if my water broke at home, he was probably going to deliver a baby which scares the crud out of me lol.

Just hang in there dear, I honesty dont think the gender of baby causes a difference in how we labor or deliver.

wow that's crazy after i had my daughter the nurses and doc said the same thing to me, they said make sure you get here on time or else your going to have the baby at home or in the car see with my daughter i went to the hospital at 10am and i was dialted at 6 cm and about an hour later i was at 8 that i didn't even have time to take any pain medication by the time the pain got so bad and i wanted somehting i was close to 10 that they said i could start to push so i wonder how this one is going to be this time around

by BTS1022, Jun 24, 2008 01:33PM
Im totally opposite, beings this is my last child im actually hoping my labor takes a bit longer, not to the point where I will need a c-section, but to the point of where I can enjoy every last bit of pain associated with bringing a new baby in this world.

But, on the other hand, I DO remember the pain from delivering my second son, and I am not so thrilled about it either, but I do want to make sure I don't take anything for granted this last time.

I wish you the best of luck, and I dont think it will be long, and I also don't think you will have any major issues during labor and delivery. And if baby is born at home or in the car, atleast you have a good story to tell your future grandbabies.
