Prostate cancer enlarged retroperitoneal node

by wocketman, Jun 25, 2008 11:34AM
Recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. Large tumor, PSA 63, two pelvic nodes on MRI and CT showed one retroperitoneal node. I have had an indwelling foley catheter for several months, starting before scans were done.
I have has several bladder infections.
Question: Should that retroperitoneal node be biopsied? If it is enlarged because of bladder infection or something else
(I read a journal article about co-excisting non-hodgkins lymphoma) I would be able to get radiation therapy to the prostate and pelvis which would increase my chances of survival.
Thanks for you help
