I can soo relate.  You say you are seeing a specialist, do you have a diagnosis?
About the fatigue, some people do very well with provigil, I could not take it.  Going to bed earlier on ambien helps me, but it does not solve the problem completely.  Far as I know, there is no magic cure except the hope of remission (depending on what you have.)

What have you been dx with?

by critter1, Jun 29, 2008 06:25AM
smittygirl and txsilver:  I'm sorry, this is how my brain functions here lately.  I was diagnosed with rhuemotoid and fibromaylgia, which they think the hep b ,may have brought on these conditions. HepB has been with me all my life.    Sorry I did not get back to you sooner.  Had to go.  My system is only dial up so I get alittle impatient with it.  I live to far out for hi-speed.
There is still so much I want to achieve, but I'm in pain and so tired all the time.  Please tell me there is more to look into to rid me of this conditions.  I do workout/exercise/yoga
One of the symptoms i hate is how sleepy i always am.  it is early this sunday morning my hands hurt pretty bad so overlook the typos.  hope to see you asap

Hi critter.  I have fibro and osteoarthritis, or at least that's what they tell me.  My sister has RA.  She takes some type of medicine called azulfadine (sp?), it's a sulfa drug and it helped her so much that she does everything and has no pain.  She's 49 yrs. old and has had RA since 30.  For the fibro, I don't know what to tell you because nothing helps me with it.  I can't take pain pills or anti-inflammatories because of my blood pressure, but I use Tylenol, ice, heat, and the muscle creams.  Sometimes they help, a lot of times not so much.

Make sure you take a good multi vitamin.  Also try magnesium, potassium, and calcium with Vit. D.   I recently started using this magosteen juice, which is supposed to be a miracle cure for pain.  It has a lot of antioxidents.  I will let you know if it works, it's expensive though.

I wish I could give you some good advice but I don't have any of my own.  I was going to say to try Yoga but I see that you are trying that already.  I just got diagnosed with Spondyloarthropathy and it's a pain in the tushy.  I take Mobic 7.5mg two times a day.  It's seem to relieve the pressure a little from the inflammation but it's not all gone that's for sure....I wish you the best and will keep you in my prayers.

I would advice of one thing, be careful with the Ultram, I had grandmal seizures from it. I can no longer take it. I do take Nuerontin which does help alot with my pain. I have a severe back injury and surgery isn't an option. My sciatic nerve was damaged and I wake up every morning having to almost crawl out of my bed. I also take ambien so I can sleep pain free and it helps ease the pain when I get a good rest. Possibly and epidural would help or nerve block if they can detrmine the origin of the pain. The best thing I have found without narcotics is the Nuerontin 600 mg 3 times a day and no side effects. I am also a recovering addict so it can be bad when the pain disables me.

Hope this helps, Shannon

i took ultram er and it is addictive but i only took it a month it is what gave me pancreatitis.  it is a very dangerous drug and i don't thing it should be given to anyone.  my neuro told me it was a dangerous drug but it did help the pain but the side effects are worse than the pain.  you can't win.
