Contractions or indigestion?

by ChrisHealy, Jun 26, 2008 03:26PM
Yesterday after cutting the lawn, I felt nauseous.  After eating a big dinner, I felt even more nauseous, my back hurt and I felt this sick feeling like I did when I was in labor 20 some years ago.  I had a really bad stomach ache right around my belly button.  It lasted until about midnight, then I woke up today okay.  Do you think it was just indigestion?  I didn't feel any contracting, but felt crampy/nauseous.

What in the heck are you doing mowing the lawn 24 weeks along with Twins???
LOL

It was hot and humid out yesterday and you probley overexerted (sp) and dehydrated.
I know it stinks but there are some things that we just have to ask for help with....The lawn is one of em...

First of all....WHY R U MOWING THE LAWN!!!!!!  It sounds like you probably over did it.  It sounds probably like indigestion since it started after you ate but you could have gotten to hot which always makes me feel sick.  So try to take it easy.  It is almost impossible for me to do anything outside with it as hot as it is!!!!  Just try to keep a track of it if you start having these pains again.

Thanks, I think you're both right.  I think I was probably dehydrated, too.  We're in a strange situation, where my husband is moving here from the Cape, so I still have my house to maintain by myself.  He just got word yesterday on a job offer here, so he can move in in 2wks!!  What great timing.  We were going to have to wait until Sept (8mos pregnant)!  So, I'm very relieved not to have to cut the lawn for much longer.  Next time I'll break it up into several small tasks instead of trying to rush through like I normally do.
Oh, and I only have one sweet pea in there, not twins!  Thanks for listening!

Umm, I'm 24 weeks and maybe I'm a sissy but I will not mow the grass. I did before I got pregnant  but heck I can't walk around the block in decent time I surely am not going to kill myself for a groomed yard.
Is there anyway you could hire some one to cut the grass for you? Maybe a neighbor or a kid in the neighborhood?
I recently had a horrible bout with indegestion/acid reflux but it was very painful and took two days before the pain went away. I knew it wasn't labor (been there done that) so Iknew the baby was okay but mommy was not doing so well in the comfort department.
Try not to overdue it as it is also harder to get good sleep, rest of any kind, and even after the baby is born it will be no easier. I am looking to change areas at work when I return where I won't have to think in order to do my job for at least three years because I know I will be exhausted, lol.
Know when to say when and ask for help. You won't regret it.
