Menopause + Irregular Periods

by ELAINE550407, Jun 27, 2008 05:30AM
My periods are normally 5-7days with the first three days heavy then light to none. I do have fybroids in the lining of my uterus which have caused irregular and heavy bleeding which cause anemia a few years ago,my gyno attempted to do a procedure do not remember name, the equipment failed the  procedure did not get done but my periods went back to normal for a while. Then I started missing periods for 1-2 mos.that a time to 3-4mos., and the days shortened from 5-7, to anywhere from 1-5 days with medium, to light, to spotting only at times. My hormone levels were tested, they are lower than they were a year ago, I am in pre menopause(I do have hot flashes mostly @ nite), I am in pre/peri menopause, this is how its been for the past year until now. On Mon. June16th I had what I thought was the beginning of a period or turned out to be 1day actually or so I thought, well on Tues. nothing, Weds a period, Thurs. nothing, Fri. period and every day after that up to this night that I am writing you now so far 9days.I am starting to have headaches, I am not sleeping well at night, and I am starting t o become tired and my legs are starting to cramp at night only every now and then. Do you think that this is menopause(hormones out of whack) or fybroid related?
