You can get mono more than once. Can you list the symptoms that you often experience ?

I am also a Chronic Hypoglycemic, so my symptems of that often coinside. it is a matter of know when my sugar is low. but, my symptoms that are consistant with EBV are:
headache
sore throat (sometimes severe)
weakness
tiredness
dizziness
fatigue
mild fever

these are reacurring symptoms. i have been checked for ebv before, and it came back inconclusive...but my doctor has told me that it can do that often times and multiple tests are needed to get a proper diagnosis for some people. i swear i have too many health issues for someone of my age. i also have PCOS and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. so, with that said it may just be a combination of all the ailments together...who knows.

If you have chronic EBV... that is (in my opinion) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. And you  certainly list some of the symptoms of CFS. This is what the CDC says about chronic EBV on their website:

Chronic EBV Infection

Reliable laboratory evidence for continued active EBV infection is very seldom found in patients who have been ill for more than 4 months. When the illness lasts more than 6 months, it should be investigated to see if other causes of chronic illness or CFS are present.

So how is your physician treating your CFS and PCOS ??

with the pcos, we have tried some hormone therepies due to my lack there of. it helped a little, but then made me loopy!! we pretty much are doing "watch and wait" right now. i know when i am having a flare up, and he will give me meds to keep them from swelling. my pcos is only mild, only causing symptoms rarely. if you were to look at a sono on the other hand, you would almost always see at least one ovarian cyst. the cfs i am learning to control with the least amount of medication possible with the help of my doctor. he and i are both very much about trying homeopathic remedies before going on meds. i just eat healthy and make sure i excerise daily, and will a two year old, that isnt hard!! lol. if i am having a really hard time with it, i have some pain meds and some antidepressants that i take to take the edge off of things. i am doing really well...the headaches are the hardest thing for me to deal with, but i have been taking fiorcet for those and it seems to be working for now.

I'm happy to hear that you & your physician are considering trying homeopathic remedies. I know that "alternative medicine" has helped me and so many other CFS patients. In fact, alternative medicine has helped me more than western medicine has. I wasn't surprised when my mother told me that Mitt Romney's wife, who has MS, was being treated by alternative medicine practitioners. (and no, I didn't and wouldn't vote for him... LOL!)

Have you had your cortisol level tested ? I don't think PCOS can cause a low cortisol, but often CFS patients who have weakness, have a low cortisol level in the A.M. In addition, many CFS patients are worse when their diet includes wheat (gluten) and if they drink alcohol.
