This feeling on klonopin normal?

by dmbfan07cb, Jun 27, 2008 11:36PM
I feel like it is almost slow motion and my heart rate gets down real low sometimes under 60 when I'm laying in bed.  and I find that I just pass out asleep randomly (for example last night I fell asleep with my laptop on my chest and my glasses on. and i ended up bending my glasses by laying on them and my laptop almost overheated. lol

is this normal?

I just feel VERY sedated.  I worry I will get sleep apnea or something from it :-(

what mg are you taking?

by dmbfan07cb, Jun 27, 2008 11:58PM
0.5 mg

by Charlotterose, Jun 28, 2008 12:17AM
oh.. well it don't get no lower than that.. it should make you feel better that your heart rate is slower.. instead if 170 like mine..

by dmbfan07cb, Jun 28, 2008 12:20AM
yours is 170 right now????

by Charlotterose, Jun 28, 2008 12:29AM
not right now!! but it does get up there at times..  my dad gets klonpin, and sometimes he will give me one.. they just make me sleepy, but atleast then i'm too tired to think about dying!

Mine gets that high too from panic, is that was yours is from?  Sometimes mine gets up to 180+

by Charlotterose, Jun 28, 2008 12:44AM
yeah, one time i called the ems on myself, he basically said your having a panic attack, 2 minutes later i was fine.. but shaky all day long.. i obsessed over my heart for months after that.. basically just waiting to drop over.. but then i found something else to obsess over.. if its not one thing its another.. thats the nasty part to anxiety, there is always something wrong.. and if by chance we have a good day, then all we worry about is "why do I feel this good?, there must be something wrong" and the the process starts over.. I need a vacation from thinking..

Yes, Klonopin will sedate you and make you sleepy, especially for the first couple of weeks. Once your body becomes acclimated to it's effects, the sleepiness should go away. A heartbeat under 60 bpm is nice, right? This is a good thing for you!

I have been on klonopin for over 3 ears now. It is actually a very good medicine. Just give it time hun,and keep your doctor informed. Try not to drink as much caffine also, This may help.

On some days i fall right asleep. depending on hat i have ate the night b/4...I can't have a smoothie late at night anymore ..rofllllll ;o/

Good luck.

Klonopin effects people differently especially when starting on it. Any of the benzo's will make you drowsy. If it's a concern to you(and it seems it is), you should be talking to your doctor about an alternate'
Personally klonopin does nothing for me. The only benzo that seems to work is valium.
I hope you resolve this issue quickly for your own peace of mind and health.
By the way, you won't develop sleep apnea from taking klonopin.
Good Luck!

Oh, one more thing...Klonopin can cause heart palpitations. Sometimes after I would take it, my heart would pound in my chest and would also race. I think that it was dropping my blood pressure or something. Do you have a blood pressure machine? Try taking it the next time you're having heart palpitations to see if your blood pressure is dropping. I bet that's what's going on.
