tummy tuck with ovarian cysts

by colierilda, Jun 28, 2008 01:28AM
I have a history of ovarian cysts.  I was in the ER about 6 weeks ago with a ruptured ovarian cyst, and an ultrasound showed that there is a 5 cm. one present.  I have a tummy tuck scheduled in a week and a half and now I am feeling pain again, I do not see my gyn until the end of July. Is it safe to go ahead with the tummy tuck? Will that interfere in any way with the cyst?

The tummy tuck will have no bearing on the ovarian cyst, since the tummy tuck surgery is superficial.  On the other hand, it is possible for another cyst to rupture, irrespective of whether the tummy tuck is performed or not.  I would suggest that you at least discuss this situation with your Gyn prior to you abdominoplasty.
