Spider Angioma turned into Liver problems?

by grace9094, Jun 28, 2008 02:54AM
After sleeping on my couch, I woke up with painful red bumps on the soles of my feet.  It was difficult to walk because the bumps were so painful.  After four days, the bumps have not gone away, and they have similar symptoms to spider angioma.  Some have a white dot in the center while other ones have red dot in the center.  The redness extends outward like spider legs, and when i put prssure on the red spider legs they go away, but they return once i release the pressure.  I have been researching and i have decided that it is Spider Angioma.  I also read that Spider Angioma can be a sign of Cirrhosis if the liver, but i do not know how i would have gotten that.  I am not a heavy drinker at all, and I do not have major history of liver problems in my family.  I also do not think that i am pregnant, which is common in many pregnant women.  Another concern of mine is that the bumps on my feet range in size from a a dime, to a quarter.  And the pictures of the spider angioma that i have been looking at are much smaller.  So I guess my question is, How serious is my condition, andd will it leave after another few days?
I am very concerned because my family does not have health insurance, and i am afraid that the doctors visit will be quite expensive.

I don't know enough about the spider angioma - but I can say that I developed one of those kind of dots on my chest --- with the sun ray veins.... Right about my third month of pregnancy.

And that would make total sense - because I believe I was in acute phase of HCV infection during that same time. (I believe I was infected by a shot of Rhogam).

Total sense.

So - my suggestion would be to get your bloodwork done at a health clinic.

Go in for pregnancy testing - and while there discuss the bumps - ask to get a hepatitis panel - just to make sure you don't have any STDs... And most health clinics can help you get a diagnosis... for free or for low cost.

Now - getting treated for HepC is much different.

Still - go check it out.

Good Luck.

I do not think it has anything to do with your liver. Spider angioma almost never presents below the waist. usually chest, back and face. see a regular doctor or a foot doctor. best of luck
