I was diagnosed with ppc in March 2001.  I was debulked then had 6 rounds of carbo/taxol.  I went into remission for about 2yrs then my dr tried to do surgery but it was inoperable.  I saw at least 3 drs who said I only had months to live.  I was mad and went to ctca and they were hopeful and optomistic. I took 3 rounds of doxil, then went on femara(anti estrogen pill) I was in remission for 3yrs and now the cancer is back. when I was diagnosed I was 40, now I,m 47. I've got 2 kids(9 and 16).  After all this time I'm still so scared to die and I don't feel peaceful.  How do ya'll cope with these issues? I also just want to say hi to everyone

Hi,
I have wondered the same thing and I only just had my first surgery.  Chemo starting soon.  My every thought is penetrated with the fear of leaving my loved ones but I try to focus on the good stuff as much as possible.
What have your docs said about this recurrence?  Can you tolerate more chemo?  Are you in a lot of pain or discomfort?
One thing is sure, there are many generous, knowledgable people on this forum who will give you as much support as possible.

It is hard to cope with the worry sometimes. However you have gotten 2 good remissions, and if you continue on that path you should not have to worry about leaving just yet. Since the femara did so well, maybe they can try one of the other estrogen rec. drugs, tamoxifen, and arimidex, and I think one is aramotose. Also if its been over a yr. since the carbo/taxol they can usually be used again. Then there are other chemos you haven't had. Stay strong and best wishes.  Donna
