Coughing up blood...

by AeMeMeS, Jun 28, 2008 09:42AM
3 weeks ago today, I out of the blue started coughing up large amounts of yucky stuff. So bad that it chokes me. The past week, its cleared up...as far as color and its pretty much clear, at first I thought I was chokeing on my spit because it is so clear.  Now its clear with a lil color at times.  I cough so hard that I choke and its sometimes really hard to catch my breath.  On about 5 different ocasions I have coughed up blood in the morning when I wake up. This morning it was a bit different, there was a lil more of it and it seemed to be just blood.  Any ideas what this could be?  I'm pretty hard headed about going to the doctor. But I'm really concerned now and I think its the best thing to do.  The blood scares me, but the way I lose my breath scares me more.
