scar tissue or gential warts

by 83tired, Jun 28, 2008 01:10PM
hi doctor

thanks for your time i recently went to have an std check all of them came back negative except i know there is only a physical examination test for male hpv .....i recently noticed a small fleshy and slighttly darker than the rest of the penis skin patch dircetly on the brown ring in the skin fold....the skin patch can be kinda folded over when i run my finger over it...it may have always been there but i have never paid close attention until now...it looks like the rest of the wrinkled skin fold around my penis when the penis is not erect, it can only be seen well when the penis is erect or i stretch the skin....i have been to two doctors the first one said she didnt think it was anything but extra skin and just part of the normal penis but it did have some charactersitics of a wart but she couldnt be certain but in all her experience with gen. warts she never had to strectch the skin to see one so she sent me to another doctor and this doctor told me it was not a wart it was just scar tissue from the circumscion especially since it was located directly on the circumscion line.........do these sound like accuate diagnosis to you of what it could be?   the only unprotected sex partner i have had says she has never had an abnormal pap test, does that mean i there is no way i could have contracted the virus?  after looking at pics of gential warts i guess i can kinda make in argument for it being a wart and it not being a wart, i am a bit of a hypochondriact, and because the one doctor was pretty sure it wasnt a wart but was uncertain it leaves doubt in my mind even though i got a definite no from the last doctor...should i just take there word  and trust them and move on?  thanks for listening to my story i hope you can help shed some light for me so i can move on thanks so mcuh....

I think the doctor who didn't think it's a wart is likely to be correct.  I agree that you don't have to stretch the skin to see warts, and the part of the penis you describe is not a common place for warts.  I think you can just let the matter rest.

Best.

thankyou so much doctor your response it was every helpful and informative, if i could please clear up one final question with you i ran out of space with the first question...i also noticed a much smaller barely noticeable skin tag or scar tisse similiar to the first one when stretching the skin folds on the circumscion line, it is about a quarter inch to the right (parrelell) from the orginal mark i previosusly mentioned ...would it be possible to have two skin tags or scar tissues on the penis since they are on the circumscion line...sorry for the two questions but i would mean alot of if you could help me one more time , thanks so much
