Post-void dribbling, urologist says no problems

by topgunner, Jun 28, 2008 06:37PM
I have undergone a urethrogram, urinary flow studies, and a flexable endoscopy and all show that ive got nothing wrong. A bladder x-ray showed there is no urine in the bladder - basically it stays in the urethra, and i have to spend 10 minutes or more milking it out, to variable degrees of success.

What can i do?

Hi,

The most common cause of dribbling urine is a stricture in the urethra.
An enlarged prostate can also cause dribbling of the urine.
'
If a stricture has been ruled out, and other causes related to the prostate have not been identified, it is difficult to pinpoint a specific reason for the problem.

You can try voiding at timed intervals instead of when there is an urge to see if it helps.
Alternatively, you can discuss with your urologist whether dilatation would help, if this is causing significant discomfort.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
