This is really a serious and unfortunate situation and I hope that the entire family is coping well. The survival of such patients will really depend on how good the supportive care is, and the level of functionality of the patient. If the patient is still able to do daily activities with or without assistance, then the survival and longevity chances are greater compared to those who are completely bedridden and unable to do anything.
