That's what probably would happen: as the child grows, so will the need for the replacement bones/prostheses to get changed and refitted. Every surgery has risks, and moreso with surgeries involving structures close to the brain. There can be risks of increasing intracranial pressure causing headaches and other pains. It is best that you have the surgeon explain everything to the family members and all concerned regarding all the possible complications and side effects.
