This patient support community is for discussions relating to breast cancer, biopsy, genetics, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, lumps, lumpectomy, lymph node dissection, lymphedema, mammograms, mastectomy, radiation therapy, reconstruction, self exams, and stage 3 and 4 treatments.
From what you have described, your cancer is around stage II of disease. The positive lymph nodes will require you to undergo chemotherapy with drugs called taxanes (Taxol or Taxotere) along with standard drugs like Adriamycin or Cyclophosphamide. Your stage would carry around 70-80% 10 year survival rate, with the addition of chemotherapy, this can be improved by another 10-15 percent.
