Annoying symptoms

by marshmallow, Jun 29, 2008 09:33AM
Hi
I have recently been told I am entering pre-menopause. I ave had 1 to 2 day periods for the past few months and missed a few as well.
I have had anxiety attacks. Scared and wanting to run away, get outside. I have had what I"m going to call depression, not wanting to eat, not wanting to do anything but stay in bed. I sleep from 9 pm to 12 noon when I can. The doc says it's mood swings form the pre-menopause. My chest hurts, my heart races. I wake up drenched in sweat in the early morning house usually around 4 am and then I stay hot until 10 am at least or when I get out of bed. No hot flashes in the day time though I think I had 1.
I am not happy about anything and I feel sad and want to cry all the time for about 1 week now.
sometimes I do smile or something will catch my interest for a few hours last night I just read a book and felt good.
I just want to hear form others that I am not going crazy, that this really is the pre-menopause and the doctor knows what he's talking about? These are such severe symptoms and they are difficult not to think that I'm going crazy.
It was the hot flashes in my sleep that did it thought, that's when the doctor said "Then it's not depression it's the pre-menopasue" and tested my blood and confirmed it.

Also any advise on what to DO?
I started taking a pill called MenoSense last night, it's supposed ot help the hot flashes.

thanks to everyone!

I posted a question, but have had no response. THis does not seem to be a very active community.

I have been having these same symptoms, but am recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Havinv deficulities getting regulated on that hormone. Have you had that checked? There are several tests they need to run to check for that, not just a TSH

I also went to GYN in case it could be peri menopause. I am 45, Still having periods. He wrote me rx for estrace. My FSH was within normal range. He said that really didn't mean anything I read that if you have your uterus you should not take this.

Has your dr wanted to start you on some HRT?

Actually right now I am wiaitng for surgery to remove 1/2 my thyroid that has a nodule on it and is hyperthyroid.
My periods pretty much stopped at the same time tihat we foudnthe growth.
But either way if it's coming naturally or from the thyrpid it is still going into pre-menopause.
Today I went and glanced through a few book about it. It seems my symptom is wha thtey call "Mood swings".
