by ernie13, Jun 29, 2008 06:37PM
i just had my 1st miscarriage friday and was wondering how many of you got pregnant quickly afterwards? i got my bfp monday and miscarried friday, i was only about 5 weeks along. how many of you were around 4-5 weeks when you miscarried? what should I expect? i had 1 bad day of bleeding and cramping and now I feel ok. I seem to just be having my normal period now. i feel like i am going to ovulate regular again, but who knows. i am new to this and hope to get pregnant again very soon.

I mc'd at 11 weeks the day after Christmas and have been ACTIVELY ttc since and I have not gotten pregnant yet...I know some people get prego quickly after mc but mine seemed to take a real toll on my body...my cycles were irregular in length until like march or april so it made it hard to tell when I was ovulating.  Sorry to hear of your mc and hopefully you'll be one of those people who get pregnant within a cycle or two =)

My doctor always advised me to not have sex until about 2 weeks after my m/c and not to try to get pregnant until I have had 3 regular cycles.. but people get pregnant after 1.. I think it depends on how fast your body bounces back.. They say that your chances of getting pregnant after a miscarriage are higher cuz your body is out of whack and ovulates irregularly but you also have to be careful because if there is still blood and tissue that wasn't fully expelled during your miscarriage it can cause problems with your next pregnancy.. With my first 2 miscarriages I had D&Cs.  The first one was really bad.  I was in BAD pain for about 5 days.  I think that a lot of it had to do with me not eating and taking my pain meds then I couldnt pass a BM sorry tmi but it was terrible.  The second one wasnt as bad and I didnt bleed as heavily either, but I still had bad cramping which put me in bed for about 3 days.  The third miscarriage I had early in my pregnancy around 5 weeks and I let my body expel it naturally.. It lasted about 4 days and was just like a period.  Barely any cramping.  I went to my doctor after and everything looked fine.  It depends on the pregnancy I think with the miscarriage and how you feel.. could also depend on the way you go about getting rid of everything.. I became pregnant again 4 months after my last miscarriage and am now 22 weeks pregnant.  good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

first of all...sorry to hear about your loss!

my post recent m/c was at 5w3d (ish) and i passed the clots in one day and had horrible cramps and then the following days seemed like a normal period. that was Feb. 22nd of this year and the first week of April of this I ovulated and on May 14th 2008 i got my BFP so it only took 2 (ish) months and im currently 10wks today so it can happen!

prior to this pregnancy though i m/c'd in June of 2007 and didnt become pregnant again for 8 months in Feb 2008 when i m/c'd as i mentioned previously.

After my first m/c it took until the third cycle. After the second m/c it only took one cycle.

sorry for your loss.  after my first MC i got pregnant again within 2 months but that resulted in another MC.  i then waited 3 months and i am now almost 6 weeks pregnant, hopefully this one will work out.

you should wait at least 1-2 healthy cycles to give your body some time to rest.

I miscarried in April 2006. I had a period. Then I got pregnant again, after only trying once. My daughter is now 15 months old!

Hi, I am very sorry for your loss, i mc when i was about 9 weeks but knew the baby had stopped developing at 7 weeks, it just took that long for it to happen naturally.  I then had to wait 6 weeks to get my next period (i have a long cycle normally (35days) so it was not that unusual).  I then got pregnant on the 2nd cycle we tried as we decided to leave trying to conceive again until after my first period. So i guess you could say 3 months after i mc. I have read that you can be more fertile right after a mc and that lots of people get pregnant right away afterwards but i do think it is up to your body to determine when it is ready.  I also think that the further along you were the longer it may take again to ovulate and get your period again.  So as you were not to far along it should not take you too long to get your period.
My mc was fairly straight forward i had two weeks of nothing until one day light spotting the next bad cramps and heavy beeding with clots - past the sack that afternoon and then 2 more days of light spotting with no cramps.  Hope all goes well for you and i wish you luck for next time.
Lauren 18weeks and 2 days.

I've had 2 miscarriages in 2007. I had one at 5 weeks, then got pregnant the next month right away (I ovulated right on time but unfortunately miscarried again at 10 weeks). waited 1 cycle and got pregnant right after that and now I have a healthy 2 month old baby. Some women's cycles never get thrown off and others may be odd for a month or 2 and then return to normal. It just depends. But I am very sorry for your loss!! It's very hard to go through that, even when it's early on. I hope you become pregnant again soon and carry your baby to term! <3

With my first m/c I was 9.5 wks....it took over a year of NOT actively trying to get pregnant again.  I was pregnant 3 times (all full term) between my first and my 2nd m/c.

My 2nd m/c was aug 18, 07....I had two normal cycles...september and october then I missed november and found out Dec 6th that I was pregnant again.  That was also without actively trying.

It really just depends on a lot of things...your stress level...how your body reacts to the miscarraige, how long it takes your body to regulate again..etc.

I had a missed M/C followed by a D&C in Dec. and became pregnant again in March.....Best wishes and I'm sorry that you had to go thru a M/C.

by Gina209, Jun 30, 2008 11:11AM
I'm sorry to hear about your M/C...I hope you're doing okay.
I had my first M/C back in November 07...dating wise I was 13 weeks but the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. Than I got Pregnant again in April 08 and M/C at 5 weeks and it was exactly like what you're having. No pain, just bled like I had my period. Than I didn't even get my next period because I got my BFP in May 08! Just about a month later! Now I am almost 9 weeks Pregnant and everything is going great! There is hope! I'll pray for you hun!

At the end of January I had a missed miscarriage (I was nearly 13 weeks, but the baby stopped growing at 8w) and then a D&C a few days later.  My cycles went right back to normal like nothing had happened.  At the end of April we found out we were pregnant again, though we had been trying not to get pregnant again (pretty much not having sex when I was ovulating ...we see how that worked out!).  So my body waited two complete cycles (about 2 months).

Now I am 13 weeks pregnant again, and as far as I know, things are going well.  I'm sorry you're having to go thru the physical and emotional pain of a miscarriage.  If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask!
