interesting info i read in regards to breastfeeding

i read that a baby learning to crawl, sit up, walk will start to nurse more often because their brains need the fat from our milk to learn.  that makes total sense!! addison is 7 months and for 15 seconds or so can sit up alone and is rolling across the room (she finds crawling too time consuming i guess haha).  she has become very gassy though and has been spitting up more, do you think it has to do with her teething?  the gassy i dont know, im not eating much more different than i usually do.  girl can belt them out! lol her pooping has decreased as well and she wakes to eat, well just suck i think, more often during the night.  so different than my son, he was a great sleeper!! just thought id share! hope everyone had a great weekend.  finally we are able to breath a bit easier here in california today, still icky from the fires though.  what is new with all of you??

I know what you mean about the fires. I live in Stockton and the whole air was just black and foggy. Me and Ayla stayed inside for about 5 days! I'm glad its getting better!

Ethan is the same way...he doesnt nurse....but he is so much hungier now and active.  He was waking more often so I just started giving him more solids and bottles throughout the day, and now he is back to normal.  Intresting because he is also spitting up more.  I just associated it with crawling...since he squishes his stomach on the ground.
I am glad I dont live up there right now, I was raised in Ripon which is right by Stockton.  Now I live in SoCal!

Gosh I give Ethan prunes everyday and it hardly gets him going at all!  I have even tried prune juice....poor kid.  It has gotten him more frequent, but still hard as a rock.TMI LOL!!  I think it is all the iron in his formula.  But you breastfeed, so dont why hers are infrequent....maybe she is using it all up since she is more active.  Oh the joys of motherhood....over analysis poop!!

I miss ya girl--I miss everyone actually. We have been going thru a lot this summer so far. More than I can get into here, but We are all still breathing, so I cannot complain too much. Jordana will be 7 months on July 5. She is doing awesome! I am now supplementing with formula, as much as I hate to, but my supply has shrunk dramatically in the last few months. My body is not keeping up with her demand. She has about 3-4 4 oz bottles of formula a day. I feel dissapointed that I had to supplement with formula again with this baby, but J was so cranky all the time, and we finally figured out it was because she was so hungry. I am still bf'ing 5 or 6 times a day, but I still feel a bit like a failure. But, I have to do what is best for J, and she is hungry and a little underweight. We must catch her back up;) She enjoy tastes of baby foods. THe only thing we discovered she doesn't like is peas. She is almost crawling, she gets up on all fours and moves a little toward objects, but mostly she goes a little backwards. SHe just started sitting up all by herself today. SHe has been sitting in position if we put her like that for about 8 weeks. But today I saw her laying down after falling backward and the next time I looked over, she has sat back up all by herself. I was happy and proud of her, but at the same time it is bittersweet to see her growing so darn fast. I still want her to be a little blob! :) J's pooping varies. On days she drinks more breast milk, she is infrequent with bowls, but on days where she has more supplemental formula, she can poop 3-4 times a day. But man, that girl can pee! I swear I change her and no less than 5 minutes later she has SOAKED another diaper. I always joke and say she has her Great  Granny's bladder, hehe. Glad you are well. Hope we can catch up again soon~Bops
