Allergy is caused by an oversensitive immune system, which leads to a misdirected immune response. The immune system normally protects the body against harmful substances, such as bacteria and viruses. In this condition the body reacts to a non-protein stimulus and eexpresses an allergic reaction.
Dry skin, which worsens in cold conditions can also contribute to the itching. So you need to keep your skin well moisturized.
Anti-histamines are the only choice of drugs but yoy can apply Calamine lotion or eucalyptys oil to relieve the itchy feeling.
