advanced degenerative disc diease

I had a ultra sound that said I had advanced degenerative disc diease at L5/S1. Will this effect a medical for a job, if so can it be fixed

Now they have to get together to set up my surgery date. I just want to get started on this long journey that's exactly what they called it.
