Lump on right testicle

by Yowza521, Jun 30, 2008 05:43AM
Hi there,

I have had this lump on my right testicle for several years, i'm 17. It's about 15mm or more in diameter and seems to be attached to the testicle but as part of the epididymis if that makes sense?

I haven't seeked medical advise which i KNOW i should have by now, but before doing so I thought i'd see what other people think.

It seems to transluminate and let light pass through it, which I know usually means its a hydrocele or a sperm filled cyst? But i have had lower adominal pain and lower back pain, which I've read is a symtom of testicular cancer or of spreading to the lymph nodes in the abdomen, these pains aren't constant and usually happen if i lie down for two long or anything.

I was wondering whether you have any idea what it COULD be from what i've described?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If the lump allows light to passs through it, it is possible that it is a cyst. It could be an epididymal cyst as you feel it is part of the epididymis. It could be a spermatocele.

A cyst or a spermatocele are both benign conditions and do not need any active medical intervention as long as they do not cause any discomfort.

The pain in the lower back could be a consequence of incorrect sleeping posture and you can check if it decreases on lying supine.

lower abdominal pain can have other causes and need not be a sign of cancer.

However, you will have to see a urologist for further evaluation to rule out any neoplasm.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
