Sinuses and Dizziness

by chisox23, Jun 30, 2008 09:46AM
I've been having chronic sinus/allergy issues for over 6 mos.  This has been accompanied by extreme dizziness with occipital pain.  Had my septum and sinuses worked on and had relief for about a month and a half after.  But now the dizziness is back with neck pain and some tingling in my left arm.  Seems like having lot of trouble focusing, especially on computer screen or tv.  Also had a ENG which showed a square wave in my eyes.  But I have already had MRI and CT scans of brains with no abnormalities.  Neurologist says neurological tests were fine.  Could this dizziness be related to sinus/allergy/TMJ, etc?

You should check for migraine.  I thought I suffered from sinus/allergy issues (with dizzness) for close to 10 years.  Then I had shocking head pain that sent me to the ER.  Everything checked out clear, they loaded me up with pain meds and a refferal for a neurologist. I have been on meds for migraine disease and things have been alot better. I still occassionally get the head pain neck pain and dizziness but i know now how to control it.

Thanks for the advice.  I did have a friend tell me that they had similar symptoms and was later diagnosed with atypical migraines.  But I do not know what medication they take to help.  And I feel like a lot of anxiety is coming into play here as well after living with this for so long.  Was that your experience as well?
